Welcome to the artdogspot.   View curated media works, artist profiles, interviews, articles on related topics and more.

    Alec Crichton, still from Autumnir

In this first edition, we feature works by media artist, Alec Crichton, curated by Adriane Little, Assistant Professor of Photography and Intermedia in the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University.  Look for Alec’s video album DING under Curated Projects.

We also offer profiles on Bruce Adams and Richard Huntington, our Featured Artists. You will find an in-depth interview with them in which they discuss their art making and their experience sharing a studio space for fifteen years.  Both artists, primarily painters, are also educators and arts writers. Bruce has been a career arts educator and more recently an arts writer and reviewer.  Richard, a former arts educator, is known for his lengthy career as the art critic for the Buffalo News.

In our next issue, our Featured Artist will be Jackie Felix.  This exceptional artist creates works that always involve fearless viewpoints on socially relevant topics while always maintaining a personal, humanistic touch.   If you would like to see some of her works prior to our profile, visit her website at www.jackie-felix.com

Also in this edition are several articles.  Travelogue: NYC Art Binge is an informal survey of some current exhibits on view in NYC along with information on some eateries (including ice cream at Jacques Torres Chocolate).  You will find information on all sites visited at the end of this article.  Also, thoughts on artist Steve McQueen’s film, Hunger, in Hunger, Perseverance, Change, and the first of a series of articles on current U.S. copyright laws and their impact on creating and publishing art (or anything) on the web entitled, The Copyright Dilemma written by Jeannine O’Brian.

For those who have stumbled on to this site looking for canine info – though they are beloved by us – that’s not what we do here.

    3. Hi Ellen
I am helping Al Felix and the BPAC work on the program and we would like to show the video interview you did with Jackie on a video monitor. Al thought that he had a cd but thinks one of jackie’s daughters may have it as he can’t find.
I do want to get your permission to show this and a cd if possible – the tech guy at BPAC thinks he may be able to “rip” it from the web – - but a cd/dvd would be best.
